Colm Keegan (born ii August 1989) is a vocalizer, songwriter and teacher from Dublin, Ireland. He was formerly a principal singer with Irish gaelic music group, Celtic Thunder, as well as previously performing with the likes of Celtic Adult female, The Priests,[ane] and Irish gaelic tenor Peter Corry. He released his first solo album "I'll Never Be Alone" in the fall of 2016. He is currently touring with his married woman, Laura, on various solo tours.
He married Celtic Thunder cellist Laura Durrant on 26 July 2016. The couple had a babe boy, Oisín, in February 2017. On xiii, November 2018, the couple welcomed a second babe, infant daughter Isla. Keegan announced her birth on Instagram the next day
Early life [edit]
Coming from a family unit of 5 brothers, all singers, and a father whose family was brought up singing, playing piano and guitar, Colm's musicality was engrained deep in his heritage.
During his early school days, Colm studied under vocal coach Ken Shellard, and won several highly acclaimed awards at the Dublin Feis Ceoil singing contest. During this fourth dimension he was also a lead soloist with the Palestrina Choir under the direction of Ite O'Donovan. Choral Scholarship at University College Dublin [edit]
In 2008-2009 and once again in 2010–2011, following a competitive option process, Colm was awarded a singing scholarship with the Choral Scholars of University Higher Dublin under the direction of Dr Desmond Earley.[4] This group is Ireland'southward leading collegiate choral ensemble. With a large repertoire ranging from art to popular music, and stretching from the medieval to the contemporary in style, this choir gives many concerts throughout the bookish yr, both in Republic of ireland and abroad.
Colm was as well offered a Scholarship position with Dublin Choral Foundation's Lassus Scholars. Upon returning from his first bout of Australia with Celtic Thunder, Colm and Laura decided to join forces and bout together, and from in that location, CKonTour was born.
